Cisarua Area
December 4, 2007 – 12:46 pmCisarua area, roughly 15 km north of Bandung, is very scenic, easily accessible, and less crowded than Lembang-Maribaya area. The main attractions here are the three waterfalls along the Cimahi River and the small idyllic Lake Lembang (Situ Lembang). The village of Cisarua constitutes the focal point oh the area.
The Cima
hi Falls
The Cihami River runs from the western flank of Mt. Tangkuban Perahu to the south through the town of Cimahi and then into the Saguling Reservoir. Its lower waterfall (the first from the road) is a spectacular drop over 80-m cliff. The lower fall makes for a pleasant, short family outing, though the way is somewhat steep and may be tiring for small children. The second waterfall is 20-m high and has a good pool for swimming; however, it’s a little more difficult to reach because you have to cross the stream twice and the path is muddy. Above this fall is the third, also 20-m high, in a lovely remote location about a forty-five minute walk from the road. A visit to these three falls takes three hours or more from Bandung. They are equally accessible by private vehicle or public transportation.
