Ir. H. Djuanda Botanical Garden (Taman Hutan Raya) Ir. H. Djuanda) is the first botanical garden in Indonesia officially opened to public by President Soeharto in January 14th 1985 same as a commemoration of Ir. H. Djuanda’s birthday. It is previously known as Pulosari Mountain conservation area and Curug Dago Natural Park.
This strategic location is easily reachable from the following tourism spots:
- Dago Terminal, about 2 km
- Ciumbuleuit Puncrut, about 6 km
- Padasuka Cimenyan, about 8 km
- Lembang Maribaya, about 4 km
In this area there are two historical caves, The Dutch Cave and Japanese Cave built during 1941 to 1942. The Dutch Cave used to be a Bengkok Hydro Power Electricity Generator while the Japanese Cave was constructed for defense objectify after the Netherlands Indies Civil Government surrendered to the Japanese army. The Indonesian forced labor (also known as romusha) constructed this cave.
